Patco PTS-30 Thermal Wire Stripper
AC Line Powered tool designed to strip High-Temperature Insulation (PTFE etc.) from wires and cables ranging from #16- #30 AWG.
Patco PTS-30 Thermal Wire Stripper is a low power line operated tool which far surpass all previous devices in safety, versatility, speed and economy. The patented design incorporates a uniquely shaped Nickel-Chromium heating element, which heats up quickly (less than 4 seconds) to an optimal temperature of 1700°F. It will efficiently strip High-Temperature (PTFE etc.) insulation from solid, stranded, or shielded wires in the range of #16- 30 AWG.
The extremely thin heating element produces negligible amount of fumes and therefore the use of these strippers does not require special ventilation. The fumes produced by thick element designed tools should be exhausted.
The low mass, guarded element design minimizes the risk of burns, eliminates nicks and broken strands of conductors and reduces lead pull on sensitive components.
The element design features two sections. Ringing section (heated section where the insulation is thermally separated) and pulling section where the thermally separated insulation slug is wedged between two parallel edges of the stripping element for an easy removal. Although this section of the element also carries the current which heats the grooving section, it is not annealed (due to its greater widths and therefore much lower resistance) and it retains its hard temper. In addition, these edges are also supported by .025″ thick, hard temper element support. This will allow pulling a slug as long as 12″ without damaging the element. Please note that conductors # 24-30 AWG are stripped directly at the heated end of the stripping element. The inner surface area of these wires against the insulation is very small so there is no danger to damage the element while pulling of the slug. The stripping element is only .010″ thick (.008″ PTS-10) and therefore the thermally cut groove width is much narrower than the two element models offered by other manufacturers. This low mass thermal stripping technology means less power, faster heating time, shorter cooling time, less fumes and higher quality strip. The longevity of the element is also greatly extended because the annealed portion of the element is used mainly for ringing (separating) the insulation rather than pulling off the slug.
Of course there are no nicks because of the rounded edges of the stripping element. The heated section of the element is also protected by an element guard, thus reducing the risk of burns. The segmented design of the studs helps dissipate heat thus reducing risk of burns even in prolonged use. The weight of the PTS-30 tool is 14oz. (0.4 kg.) and the weight of the PTS-3 adjustable temperature model is 5.2 oz. (0.150 kg.). There are also other unprecedented design features such as gauge selector, flicker accessory etc. not available on any other currently available tools. Patco Thermal Strippers are also less expensive than competitive models.

A delivery and handling charge applies to all orders with the exception of back-ordered items.
Unless otherwise required by Buyer, Seller will make transport arrangements as follows:
For deliveries within the metropolitan areas of mainland State capital cities a standard freight charge may be added to invoice; goods
For delivery outside those areas, seller will select the transport to be used and prepay freight for Buyer. Seller will then bill Buyer for freight at Seller's discretion.
Should the Buyer request goods be sent to a Post Office box the Buyer acknowledges this method is the only available and therefore the Seller is not liable for undelivered goods.
Free shipping on orders over $199 incl GST (valid for 1 delivery per order and excludes NT, WA & TAS). If only part of the order is in stock, the customer has the option of paying for a second delivery if they require a partial shipment prior to all goods becoming available. Mektronics Australia reserves the right to charge additional freight in the event of hazardous, bulky or heavy items ordered.
DELIVERY TIME
All quoted delivery or consignment dates are estimates only, given without engagement.
Delay in consignment of any part of an order shall not relieve Buyer of its obligation to accept and pay for the remainder of the order.
Except as provided in paragraph 1.2 of Terms & Conditions, seller will not be liable to pay damages or compensation for any injury or loss sustained by Buyer
a) in the event of a delay in consignment or delivery of goods: or
b) in the event of non delivery.
Goods offered ex-stock by Seller are subject to prior sale.
In the event of any happening beyond Seller's reasonable control in consequence of which Seller cannot effect consignment by the time or times quoted or specified, Seller shall be entitled to consign part only of an order, suspend consignment or extend the time for consignment, for the period during which such cause of delay operates, or may cancel the order, and in the event of such suspension, extension or cancellation, Seller shall not be liable for damages.
