3M™ High Temperature Masking Tape 501+ is our premium high performance crepe paper masking tape designed to create super-sharp paint lines in most industrial painting situations, including high-temperature bake cycles of up to 300 degrees for 30 minutes, and provide clean, one piece removal.
This smooth-to-the-touch masking tape embodies all the desirable features of a professional-grade masking tape. Its natural rubber adhesive provides instant adhesion for fast application along with reliable holding power that resists lifting, curling and edge seepage. It provides clean removal that helps reduce labor, clean up, and produce vivid paint lines. Its smooth backing helps achieve complete surface contact and is also solvent and moisture resistant, which minimizes bleed-through. A special back side treatment provides a smooth unwind for easy handling, control and reduced waste. It is easy to tear from the roll, which aids in handling, yet strong enough to resist unwanted tearing when removing after the job is done.
3M™ High Temperature Masking Tape 501+ (PDF, 1.3 Mb) is conformable for easy masking around corners, over irregular surfaces, and offers easy handling that reduces application time. This tape can be qualified for ASTM D-6123 (replaces obsolete PPP-T-42C, Type I, (CID-A-A-883B).

What is Masking Tape?
Masking tape was developed specifically to help protect surrounding surfaces from overspray, provide clean paint lines, and remove easily and cleanly when finished. Masking tapes from 3M adhere well, resist solvents or water from the paint, and are strong enough to hang plastic sheeting, yet remove cleanly without damaging the subsurface. The backing, typically crepe paper, can conform to curved and irregular surfaces. The tape hand tears for tool-free application.
A masking tape (PDF, 28 Mb) should specify what surfaces it will stick to and the interval over which it will remove cleanly. A very thin or poorly manufactured tape may demonstrate splintering or shredding, either coming off the roll or when being removed after use. Some masking tapes have the tensile strength for light commercial and industrial applications, including bundling, labeling, sealing, temporary repairs, lane marking, splicing and surface protection. The classic crepe paper masking tape is a light tan color, but our masking tapes come in a variety of colors and formulations to meet general and specific applications. A roll of masking tape is basic toolbox or supply room item in construction, warehousing, military, marine, shipping and retail industries.

SHIPPING
A delivery and handling charge applies to all orders with the exception of back-ordered items.
Unless otherwise required by Buyer, Seller will make transport arrangements as follows:
For deliveries within the metropolitan areas of mainland State capital cities a standard freight charge may be added to invoice; goods
For delivery outside those areas, seller will select the transport to be used and prepay freight for Buyer. Seller will then bill Buyer for freight at Seller's discretion.
Should the Buyer request goods be sent to a Post Office box the Buyer acknowledges this method is the only available and therefore the Seller is not liable for undelivered goods.
Free shipping on orders over $199 incl GST (valid for 1 delivery per order and excludes NT, WA & TAS). If only part of the order is in stock, the customer has the option of paying for a second delivery if they require a partial shipment prior to all goods becoming available. Mektronics Australia reserves the right to charge additional freight in the event of hazardous, bulky or heavy items ordered.
DELIVERY TIME
All quoted delivery or consignment dates are estimates only, given without engagement.
Delay in consignment of any part of an order shall not relieve Buyer of its obligation to accept and pay for the remainder of the order.
Except as provided in paragraph 1.2 of Terms & Conditions, seller will not be liable to pay damages or compensation for any injury or loss sustained by Buyer
a) in the event of a delay in consignment or delivery of goods: or
b) in the event of non delivery.
Goods offered ex-stock by Seller are subject to prior sale.
In the event of any happening beyond Seller's reasonable control in consequence of which Seller cannot effect consignment by the time or times quoted or specified, Seller shall be entitled to consign part only of an order, suspend consignment or extend the time for consignment, for the period during which such cause of delay operates, or may cancel the order, and in the event of such suspension, extension or cancellation, Seller shall not be liable for damages.
